Students at Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre Academy are provided with diverse and quality curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. In addition to our traditional courses we offer programs such as Primary -12 French Immersion, Options and Opportunities (O2), and Cooperative Education. These programs provide our students with an opportunity to explore a wide variety of areas and support transition planning for post-secondary study and future employment options. Extra-curricular programs at Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre Academy are also quite diverse. Student participation is encouraged on athletic teams and in fine arts programs as well as in special interest groups and organizations.

Would you like an easy way to see what is for homework or what assignments have been given? Strait Up for Parents/Guardians and Students is used by teachers to advise parents/guardians and students about current classroom work, projects and activities; upcoming assignments and tests as well as other classroom expectations. In addition to enhancing school-to-home communications, Strait Up may be used to share other relevant information and messages, including online educational supporting resources.

Click on the "Strait Up for Parents and Students" picture to the right listed under LINKS. After clicking on the picture, you will see a page that has the list of schools in the Strait Regional School Board. Simply click on the little blue arrow that is located beside the name of your school. Now you will see a page that lists all the teachers in your school. Click on the name of a teacher and you will then see the teacher's webpage with a list of homework and assignments.
